Review ListThis review list is provided to inform about this document in question and assist you in its preparation. This Agreement spells out the details for personal appearances at any event you may have. This ranges from community to business events, large scale ones to much smaller ones. Having a signed agreement in hand saves lots of hand wringing by all parties.
1. Make multiple copies. Keep a file of them if you are paying for the appearance. Often this kind of signed agreement can be shown to prospective people to demonstrate conclusively that this is the “normal” way you do it. In other words, you can use a copy as a sales tool.
2. If you are the talent, this agreement does the same thing but from the other point of view. It confirms the key details about expectations: price, time, and terms. You, too, can forward formerly signed copies to prospective clients to show this is the “normal” way to do it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a personal appearance contract?
A personal appearance contract is a legal agreement between a talent and a sponsor for a specific appearance event. It outlines the obligations of both parties, including the date, location, equipment, and support facilities required. The contract ensures that both parties understand their responsibilities and the consequences if they are not met.
What are the key elements of a personal appearance contract?
Key elements include the identification of the talent and sponsor, the date and location of the appearance, the equipment to be provided by the talent, and the support facilities to be provided by the sponsor. The contract also specifies deadlines for submitting forms and verifying preparations. Additionally, it includes provisions for cancellation or abridgment if support is not provided.
What happens if the sponsor fails to provide the agreed-upon support facilities?
If the sponsor fails to provide the agreed-upon support facilities, the talent may cancel or abridge the appearance. However, the sponsor is still required to pay the full agreed-upon fee. This clause protects the talent from financial loss due to the sponsor's failure to meet their obligations.
What is the Remote Checklist form and when must it be submitted?
The Remote Checklist form is a document that the sponsor must complete and return to the talent. It must be submitted at least two business days prior to the scheduled event. This form helps ensure that all necessary preparations are in place before the appearance.
What equipment is the talent responsible for providing?
The talent is responsible for providing the equipment listed in the contract. The specific equipment is to be filled in the blank space provided in the agreement. The sponsor must ensure that adequate support facilities for this equipment are provided at least two working days prior to the appearance.
What support facilities must the sponsor provide?
The sponsor must provide the support facilities and personnel as agreed upon in the contract. These are specified in the blank sections of the agreement. The sponsor is also required to verify that all equipment and personnel support are prepared at least two working days before the appearance.
Can the talent cancel the appearance if the sponsor does not meet their obligations?
Yes, the talent may cancel or abridge the appearance if the sponsor fails to provide the agreed-upon support facilities. However, the sponsor must still pay the full agreed-upon fee. This provision ensures that the talent is compensated even if the event does not occur as planned.
What is the deadline for the sponsor to verify equipment and personnel support?
The sponsor must verify that all equipment and personnel support stated in the contract are prepared at least two working days prior to the appearance. This verification is part of the sponsor's responsibilities to ensure a smooth event. Failure to do so may result in cancellation or abridgment by the talent.
What are the consequences if the sponsor does not submit the Remote Checklist form on time?
The contract does not explicitly state consequences for late submission of the Remote Checklist form. However, since the form is required two business days prior, failure to submit it may be considered a breach of the sponsor's obligations. This could lead to cancellation or abridgment of the appearance by the talent, with the full fee still due.
Is the sponsor responsible for providing any equipment?
Yes, the sponsor is responsible for providing the equipment and support listed in the contract. The specific items are to be filled in the blank section. The sponsor must ensure these are prepared and verified at least two working days before the appearance.
